Central Container Services Ltd (CCS) have taken delivery of a new SANY SDCY80K empty container handler for their container operations in Oldbury, West Midlands.
CCS have fast become one of the Midland’s leading hub for container storage, sales and repairs and their eight-acre site in Oldbury is purpose-built for container storage along with designated wash bay areas for special chemical cleaning and container repairs.
The machine, supplied by Cooper Specialised Handling, is handling empty 20-40ft standard, high cube and pallet wide containers, can lift 7 high containers at 8’6” or 6 high at 9’6” and is powered by a Volvo engine in conjunction with a Dana transmission and Kessler drive axle. The machine is supplied with a large cabin, additional driver comforts within the cabin including reverse camera system and the XL heated air seat. Coupled with the intrinsic safety features build into the Sany as standard such as speed restrictors is Sany’s well renowned rear-end stability, arguably regarded as being the highest in the market. The machine offers the perfect blend of strength, stability and agility required by CCS.
CCS Ltd also took benefit of the business model that Sany is using to great effect involving with stock machines available at short delivery times making business decisions that much easier. By stocking machines and yet still having the ability to supply an element of customisation at the Sany plant in Bedburg, Germany, CCS have managed to avoid the typical 6-month wait for container-handling supply – a point not lost on CCS owners
Martin Dale, Sales Manager at Cooper Specialised Handling Ireland commented, “The Directors were drawn to the Sany for a variety of reasons. Technically, the Sany offers the highest specification in one machine not least the stability” Martin continued “The stability factor of the machine, was the key factor in the purchase for Central Containers. Commercially, the Sany is not the cheapest but offers greatest value for money and was readily available.”
Winston Chinn and Toby Balu, Directors of CCS Ltd commented that “after many years with their old supplier they felt like they weren’t getting the customer service that they required so when they were offered the Sany with a short lead time and setup, this was a key factor in their decision to move to Sany.”
