We are delighted to report that, following an in-depth audit, we have retained our ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditation’s, passing the stringent examination of our systems, processes and controls with flying colours.
While some companies operating in the heavy lifting equipment sector rely on the manufacturer’s accreditation’s, Cooper Specialised Handling Ireland Group is one of the few specialists in the UK that supplies and services port and heavy handling equipment to achieve these internationally recognised quality, environmental, and health and safety standards across its entire sales and after sales operations.
However, in an important development, following close collaboration with the certifying body, we have amended the certification scope of Cooper Specialised Handling and Cooper Specialised Handling Ireland to be more specific to the port activities of the two companies. This key amendment makes it clear that, far from being generic, our ISO accreditation are specific to our core market, which will reassure our customers and help to set us apart from the competition.
Many people are familiar with ISO9001, which is based on a number of quality management principles, while ISO14001 supports an effective management system to measure and improve environmental impact.
For us, OHSAS18000 – the international management system specification that helps organisations control occupational health and safety risks – is the differentiator. Accreditation reinforces the fact that we not only recognise the risks inherent in the environments in which heavy lifting and container handling equipment operates, but also adhere to best practice to maintain the best possible working conditions.
