Cooper Specialised Handling, in conjunction with one of it’s principle manufacturing partners, Mantsinen Group, have announced the launch and market introduction of the new Mantsinen 60 hydraulic crane that sees the product offering of Coopers enter the 60 to 70 tonne size crane market for the first time. For Mantsinen, this new launch is re-introducing into an area they once were activated with upper-frame excavator technology over 20 years ago.
The Mantsinen 60 will make its launch at next months Bauma exhibition in Munich from 8th to 14th April. The new machine, available in either tracked or wheel (twin axle) variants will enjoy horizontal reach of up to 20,5 metres with straight or curved boom options and be powered by a Volvo industrial-specified TAD 882 VE, 210kw 8-litre diesel power unit. The machine will also be supplied with Mantsinen’s already acclaimed port-specific stainless- steel cab which can be mounted on either a single-arm or twin-arm hydraulic cab-riser.
The now well renowned on-board telematics MTS system that is available on the larger cranes is now also available on the 60 offering every possible data a user may need and Hybrilift, the Mantsinen energy-recovery system that Mantsinen first launched in 2008, is available as an option in what is widely recognised as a highly-price-competitive market.
Speaking on behalf of Cooper Specialised Handling Ltd, David Cooper, Executive Director said “This is especially exciting for a number of reasons. Firstly, the 60-70t machine market is probably too small for our traditional port-specific market so this opens-up a whole new and huge industrial market for us. Secondly, this is certainly a shining-example of a top- down engineering approach where experience and technology in the larger cranes feeds down into a smaller version and thirdly, it’s adherence to life-cycle norms makes this probably, by definition, the only hydraulic crane option in a highly-competitive material handler market”
Speaking on behalf of Mantsinen, Tapio Pirinen, Senior Vice-President stated, “We have an outstanding offering for large-capacity machines, and now we are aiming to offer our clients something more targeted and tailored for especially round-wood, bulk and scrap handling”. Tapio continued “Indeed, nowadays more is not necessarily more in material handling, but the key factor seems to be the combination of optimal features for the task at hand and long lifetime expectancy for the machine. The Mantsinen 60 carries all the operation-proven Mantsinen qualities in a condensed package which combines agility, intelligence and strength”.
The Mantsinen 60 will launch to the public for the first time in Bauma next month and be on general sale immediately thereafter.
