Typical reachstacker versatility in a compact package

The advantages of using a reach stacker in intensive materials handling applications, such as port operations and rail terminals, are well understood. Now, any facility requiring the capability to handle loads of 10 to 45 tons can enjoy all the usual benefits in a compact, cost-effective package.

Our heavy lifting division, Cooper Specialised Handling, has added a Konecranes SMV 108 TB6 to its rental fleet. With a 5000mm wheelbase this powerful ‘baby’ reach stacker is the most compact model in the Konecranes range.

The machine was built in 2000 and has less than 15,000 machine hours on the clock. With a lift capacity of 10,000kg and 8,000kg in the first row and second row respectively, it offers good, all round versatility.

Lift speeds are 0.55 metres/second unloaded and 0.40 metres/second carrying the rated load, while the lowering speed is 0.45 metres/second. So, for applications where the emphasis is on productivity/turnaround, the SMV 108 TB6 is no slouch. Thanks to a forward and reverse speed of 30km/hour and the ability to tackle an incline of 22.9% carrying the rated load at 2km/hour, this reach stacker is also highly manoeuvrable.

Power comes from a Volvo 4-stroke diesel TAD-722-VE-HT engine producing 1050Nm of torque at 1400rpm linked to a Dana TE-17000 powershift gearbox with three forward and three reverse gears plus a Kessler D81 wet disc brake drive axle.

This specification includes a spreader, trainer seat and radio, and since we tailor all rental contracts to meet individual business needs, you can rely on Cooper for a cost-effective heavy lifting solution that delivers much-needed flexibility.

The Konecranes SMV 108 TB6 reach stacker is also available to purchase. Like all the quality used equipment we supply, the ‘baby’ reach stacker comes with a complete, substantiated history plus a comprehensive warranty. The package incorporates dedicated aftersales support provided by our own team of highly skilled service engineers.
